Since 1989, the Tmavomodrý Festival has been breaking down the invisible barrier between the world of sighted people and those who are visually impaired.

The festival is a unique cultural event that creates space for meeting, learning and artistic collaboration among visually impaired children and young people.

It provides a safe and inspiring environment where participants can learn, share their experiences and build new friendships. The programme is traditionally tailored to their needs and includes music workshops, educational activities and special accessibility features such as haptic tours of the Moravian Gallery collections.

Since 2024, pupils and teachers from primary art schools have also been actively involved, deepening mutual understanding, respect and social sensitivity between the majority population and young people with disabilities.

The 36th edition will take place in Brno from 30 September to 2 October 2026.

Concerts:

• Children for Children — 1 October 2026, 6:30 PM, Royal Chapel at Špilberk Castle

• Gala Concert — 2 October 2026, 4:30 PM, Red Church

The concerts will feature young visually impaired performers together with pupils and teachers from primary art schools. The evenings will be enriched by guest artists: Vojta Nýdl, Pavel Borský, Irena Pohl Houkalová and Eva Nýdl.

The festival is organised by TIC Brno and the Magdalena Kožená Foundation. It is held under the auspices of the Mayor of Brno, JUDr. Markéta Vaňková.
