Tmavomodrý festival

October 16–17, 2025 | Brno

Since 1989, the Tmavomodrý Festival has been breaking down invisible barriers between the world of the sighted and those with visual impairments. The 35th annual edition will take place in Brno from October 16–17, 2025.

This unique cultural event offers a space for children and youth with visual impairments to gather and collaborate artistically. It provides a safe, inspiring environment where participants can learn, share experiences, and form new friendships.

The program is carefully tailored to their needs and includes music and theater workshops led by professional artists. Since 2024, students and teachers from elementary art schools have actively participated — enriching mutual understanding, respect, and social sensitivity between mainstream youth and those with disabilities.

This year’s highlights will feature two concerts with blind and visually impaired young musicians performing alongside students and teachers from ZUŠ schools in Prague, Brno, Jablonné nad Orlicí, and Levoča.

Concerts:

  • Children for Children – October 16, 2025 at 6:30 PM, Klub Šelepka, Brno

  • Festive Concert – October 17, 2025 at 4:30 PM, Red Church, Brno

Special guest performers include exceptional musicians:

Vojtěch Nýdl, Eva Nýdl, Irena Pohl Houkalová, and Pavel Borský

Organized by TIC Brno and the Magdalena Kožená Foundation.
