Dido and Aeneas: Voice of the Future – May 25, 2025
On Sunday, May 25, 2025, the Baroque theatre of Valtice Castle hosted the festive premiere of a shortened version of Dido and Aeneas: Voice of the Future by Henry Purcell. The production was prepared as part of the scholarship program of the Magdalena Kožená Foundation by selected students from elementary art schools across Bohemia and Moravia, under the guidance of professional artists.
Open to the general public, the performance captivated audiences with its powerful story of love and betrayal, as well as its Baroque aesthetic. The production was directed by Jana Tajovská Krajčovičová, with musical direction by Martin Hroch and choreography by Kristýna Svítilová. The premiere was honored by the presence of the Governor of the South Moravian Region, Mgr. Jan Grolich.
